Making a Difference The ACB Counselling program

Through 1629 hours and counting, we continue to stand as a pillar of support for our community, fostering mental and emotional well-being for all.

701 Applicants

We’ve had the privilege of serving 701 individuals, from the age of 5 to  76. We tailor our services to meet the diverse needs of our community members. 

7 Provinces and Territories

Applications came from various regions across Canada, including Alberta, BC, Manitoba, Northwest Territories, Nunavut, Ontario, and Quebec.”

9 Languages

Our services are offered in the following languages: French, English, Haitian Creole, Swahili, Lingala, Tshiluba, Twi, Italian, Spanish

In a powerful partnership with the Canadian Red Cross and the Government of Canada, specifically through Employment and Social Development Canada, FAMHAS received vital funding to spearhead the expansion of mental health services for the ACB community throughout Canada, particularly during the challenging period of the Covid-19 pandemic. This support played a crucial role in our mission to enhance accessibility and provide much-needed assistance to those in need.

FAMHAS offered an informative session exploring the need to develop and maintain a strong mental health routine while navigating the world of entrepreneurship and careers as black women. We discussed some of the challenges we face and how we can overcome them.
